Kalana Ether this stag is extremely modest, or has self esteem issues, thought Kalana gingerly upon hearing him say that he would not make a good leader. She decided to go with him being extremely modest, but if that was the real story, she knew not. Kalana only realized that she had been staring at him when he looked up from eating and stared directly back into her eyes. She kept eye contact for a second. Then broke it, blushing intensely, but resisting the erg to look away. they say the eyes are the window into the soul, and here this was definitely the case. she had been unprepared for anyone to look into her eyes, and had no time to shield her emotions, this allowed anyone to read her like a book. she shivered her glistening snowy white coat, knowing that it had been completely possible for him to see right through her. With her curiosity returning, "you said that caribou such as yourself live in gigantic herds. Did you, or were you always a loner?" she asked in an attempt to warm the chill that the eye contact had sent up her spine. It was not the type of chill that you get when your scared or anything, it was just the type that you get when a deep secret is reveled or you are extremely nervous.

Jack watched as Kalana broke eye contact with him. He wondered if he shouldn't have looked into her eyes. Jack continued chewing the food in his mouth, and looked around not knowing what else to do. It was pretty awkward, and Jack hoped they would be able to start another conversation. Jack was real happy when Kalana asked him a question, even though it involved him and his life. "Well.. Me and herds, especially big ones, just don't get along" Jack said. He didn't want to say too much about what happened, only cause he liked to act like it never happened. It wasn't anything big, he had just ended up getting kicked out of the herd, and since then had no interest in joining a herd, or anything to do with other Caribou.
Jack looked around nervously, still not knowing what exactly to say. "So.. Know any good places to graze? I've been getting mouthful's of that bad tasting plant.." Jack said as he spit some out. He knew he was pretty stupid for looking around for food when he knew there wasn't anything good, but he was hoping to find something good to eat. Jack then looked up at Kalana, and wondered what she thought.

Kalana Kalana could see that her question had been poorly chosen. the stag seemed deeply distressed. upon hearing his next question, Kalana said, "well... not really, I've herd that the best feeding grounds are around herd lands. But all the northern herd lands are claimed already. this stuff around here has been horrible, yet there has been enough to get by." She sighed, looking down. Kalana had only eaten as much as she had to, because the only vegetation that survived out here was ether to tough, of bad tasting. Trying to forget her troubles, Kalana looked back up at the stag, observing his unusually large set of antlers, it gave her a strange feeling of fear, and joy to see them. She realized that she had run out of things to talk about. But if there was one thing she had learned, she knew that action spoke louder and truer than words. She searched for something to do, then, seeing nothing she decided to wing it. She ran up to him laughing, then gave him a small shove with her soft white maw, and ran a few feel away, eyes bright and clear, dancing on her feet. she knew it was a risky move, and she felt kind of foolish doing it. But she knew that now, the time for simple conversation had passed, just as the questions they asked each other had run out. The time to explain herself with action had come.

Jack looked at Kalana when she explained about the grass. He sniffed one of the plants, then shook his head. "Well I guess if there's enough to get us by.." Jack said, deciding not to eat anymore until he really needed to. Jack then looked at Kalana, thinking what a beautiful doe she was. He noticed that Kalana was looking at him, and he wondered what she was thinking. 'Probably how strange I look' Jack thought to himself. He shook his head a little, hoping that's not what she was thinking.
It was quiet for a moment, so Jack looked around trying to think of something, anything, to talk about. He really couldn't think of anything though. He didn't want to ask the doe too much questions about her life, because he didn't want her to feel uncomfortable answering any of them. Jack continued thinking of what to say, when Kalana started running up to him, laughing. He had no idea what she was doing, until she gave him a small shove.
Jack didn't have much of a time to react, and just watched as Kalana ran a few feet away from him, dancing on her feet. "Huh?" Jack asked, confused. It then took him a minute to realize what the doe was doing. Or at least what he thought she was doing. Jack began running up to the doe, then slightly bumped up against her, while running past her. He then stopped quickly, and turned around looking at the doe, wondering what she would do next.

Kalana She saw the stag coming, and spun around in an attempted to dodge his gentile buffet, but to no avail. She quickly looked around getting her barrings, then swung after him, still laughing, in an attempt to tag him back. This is a strange game, thought Kalana. She really had no idea what she was doing, and she wasn't going to stop to find out. the last time Kalana had socialized with deer, she was only a fawn, thus she knew only how to play. She tried to nick the stag with her maw again, while turning sharply away. she wasn't sure if she had got him, but she bolted to the left of him, running. She tried jumping over a tall log, but she had misjudged the hight of the log and her foot hit it in mid air, sending her tumbling head over hooves. When she came to a rest, she was laying down rather awkwardly, eyes closed.

Jack felt himself bump up against the doe as he ran by her. He had then stopped, and looked back at the doe just in time to see her coming towards him again. He didn't even think it was odd that both of them were playing, as they weren't kids anymore. Jack didn't really care though, as he didn't care what anybody thought.
Jack felt himself get nicked by Kalana, then watched as she turned away. Jack immediately began running after her again, trying to catch up to her. He watched as the doe tried to jump over a log, but her leg hit it and she went flying. By then Jack was close behind her, so didn't have a chance to stop as he got caught in the mess, and began to go flying with her. It seemed the doe had landed a second before Jack did, as his lower have of his body landed on the doe, while his other half landed on the ground.

Kalana Kalana remained motionless on the ground, eyes closed. the stag had also fallen, and he had fallen right onto her back half. because of this, even if she wanted to get up, she couldn't. So she decided to play a joke on him. she relaxed all he mussels, let her ears flop with gravity, and continued to lay there, motionless, eyes closed, the weight of the stag baring down on her.

Jack stayed where he was for a few seconds before realizing that he was on the doe. He tried to get up, but kept slipping. Finally, after the third time of trying to get up, Jack was able to get up. He limped away from the doe, then turned towards her. "Kalana?" He asked. He didn't think she looked too good. Jack leaned in towards Kalana, then bumped her a couple times with his nose. "Are you okay?" Jack asked, even though he was sure she wasn't. He bumped her a couple more times with his nose. He then had to step back as his legs were hurting him. He then just stood there looking at the doe, wondering what to do.

Kalana She noticed in the back of her mind, the stag's attempts to get up. she was worried that he had been hurt, and was relieved to hear him finally get on his feet. Kalana snapped her eyes open and said "boo!" jumping up, giggling, and prancing playfully around the stag, eying him happily. -ooc: blach, i've got no muse!!!-

Jack continued to stare at the doe, thinking of things he could do, when she quickly opened up her eyes, and said 'boo'. The doe had then jumped up, giggling, then pranced around Jack. He had jumped about a foot backwards when the doe had jumped up out of nowhere. He then just looked at her, and watched as she pranced around. He was in shock, as he had thought the doe had been squished by him. "So.. your okay?" Jack asked her.

Kalana "of course" she cooed happily, trotting back up to him. She paused a moment, then added "I worried you?" She was happy that her little surprise had worked, but somewhat regretted doing it because of the worry that it had caused.
