The dark red blur flashed though the forest, her hooves hitting the ground only lightly as she ran. Why was she running? Well, no particular reason...she was just working off some energy, getting rid of any anger she had from her recent workings...she had been so close to killing that stupid doe...if she hadn't thought about it long that stag wouldn't have gotten to them in time to save his precious wretch. Oh well, she would find another victim sometime.

The red-hued doe finally slowed and looked around herself. She had run into new territory, territory she didn't know. Her nostrils flared as she scented the wind...there were others around. She snorted gently and sighed, hoping someone worthy of her attention would come, not just anyone who thought to have a chance at anything with her...

Eclipse

Eclipse snorted with a fiery delight, as he devoured his bloody meal. The wolf had been an easy opponent. he scared the pack senseless when they saw a Jaguar coming at them. He laughed to himself with amusement at the memory.

He gazed for a moment at the moon lit sky, licking his lips, his eyes literally gleaming, and tested the air. he sniffed, bored with what he found, nothing of interest or a challenge to... wait... he tested the air once again, there it was. someone was close. He bounded off into the brush to investigate, creeping along stealthily.

What are you doing here?
Isn't it a bit dark for you my dear?

Sylvana's nostrils flared once again as she took in the scents around her, wondering if anyone else was around. When her nose caught the scent of another close by she tensed up, and without even thinking shifted into her bear form, growing easily larger than any stag. Her fur bristled slightly and she turned her head to face in the direction that the scent was coming from.

Her dark eyes narrowed as she sat down and waited for whoever it was to show themselves.

Eclipse

Eclipse bounded out of the brush only a few yards from where he had scented the other deer. He blinked in surprise, there was a bear standing where the deer should have been. Then he shook his head in stupidity. Why do they always change into their form! he thought, Is it to much to ask to meet deer to deer? Only now did he realize that he had not changed into deer form. stupid! he added to his thought, there's a reason for you! "Well well well, a bear." he growled, adding emphases on the word bear to show that he knew this wasn't her true form.

He trotted up about half way to her, changing into his deer form. Black pelt blending into the night, markings standing out brilliant as day. "Isn't it a little late for you to be out here all on your own?" he chided "Oh, gosh look" he said in pretend astonishment, "the moon is up, that must mean it's past your bed time!"

There's no one with a bed time here

Sylvana snorted, her large, black bear nostrils flaring as she did so. Her dark eyes still narrowed as they took in the jaguar that approached her, and then the stag it transformed into. Her black lips curled back for a moment before she too shfited back into her normal form...well, now her dark reddish-brown pelt stood out a little less in the darkness...

"A bed time for Sylvana? Hah! Even as an infant I had no bed time." she retorted, her voice low but calm. He had not annoyed her, only amused her for a moment and peaked her interest a little. This could turn out to be an interesting encounter indeed.

Eclipse examined her pelt, it's... apleasent shade he thought to himself

"so i take it your name is sylvana?" he laughed. "Just a wild guess from your talking third person" he laughed again, now examining her markings. her strange colored hove, and especially the scar over her eye. Then he added carefully in a growling voice, "you may call me eclipse." he did not bow or nod as he said it, he just... said it.

Sylvana snorted, her auds flicking a bit, just out of habit...one who wasn't used to her tactics would take it as irritation, but it was just how she was. "Yes, my name is Sylvana...and I'm sure it's worth knowing your name, Eclipse...otherwise I'll make something comes of wasting time here with you." she replied, her tone slightly mocking yet still mostly calm as her words spilled form her lips.

She let her dark blue gaze look the stag over...just by looking at him she could tell that she was older than the stag, but that hardly made a difference. She snorted gently and waited for the buck's reply.

He grinned as she made it his turn to go on the defensive. "Then it shall be my pleasure to waste your time sylvana" he growled sarcastically.

he noted her annoyed posture, and smirked inwardly to himself. it wasn't that he liked to make others annoyed, it was just his sure fire way to see which alliance they belonged to. he knew that each alliance had their own way of dealing with words. He was pleased to see that she was of the eastern alliance.

"so really, what is one such as yourself doing out here this late... i mean... really, bears cant see in the dark... can they?" He said, still in a growling voice, tilting his head slightly.

Lets start with making sure you don't burn

Her ears remained turned toward him as she waited for him to speak. After a few seconds after she had spoken herself she heard his reply, and her smirk only broadened slightly when she heard what he said. She let her dark, steely gaze settle on his eyes before she replied, "it makes no difference...I can see just as well as a deer...or as a bear." she said rather defiantly, her voice now it's usual slight hiss, though still relatively calm...no, she wasn't annoyed, she was actually enjoying this conversation.

he smirked outwardly, happy that he was off the defensive again.

He shook his head, allowing his ears to sway as he did so. "no, no" he growled, a little annoyed that she had missed his main question. "what are you doing wandering around so late at night?... i mean, you cant exactly hunt when it's this dark... being a bear and all... wouldn't it be easer to just hunt come sunrise?" he scolded himself in his mind, realizing that once again, he asked multiple questions, and it was likely that only one would be answered.

Sylvana only smirked in reply a little before finally speakinf, walking in a really slow circle around the buck, her gaze remaining on him as she went, "Well, I can be out and about even if I'm not hunting now can't I? I just enjoy the night better than I do the day...is that such a crime, Eclipse? I'm sure there is no one to say anything against my strolling about in the dark, in my bear form or not." she replied in her hissing, low voice. She was beginning to have fun with him, maybe he really was worth her staying around.

He eyed the doe as she began to circle around him, waiting to see if she made any sudden moves.

"so... your out here... enjoying the night?" He chortled, "really?" he added sarcastically "are you really just out here, just... i don't know... just strolling along? ...How believable." He was brimming with both sarcasm and laughter by now. he snorted, amused by himself, waiting for her reaction.

Her ears did not miss the sarcasm and laughter that filled that stag's voice...what? Was she not allowed to enjoy the night? Well true, she had come out tonight to work out a bit of anger...sadly enough she could find nothing so far, and she had no wish to fight the buck, she didn't want to scratch him up at all, "Well it's not like I'm hungry at all...I've got to leave some prey around here for when I am...or for when I get too bored...either one works." she replied, her voice still calm and level..for an Eastern doe it was rather difficult to get her temper up.

"you fail to answer the question." he laughed, satisfied with his smart retort. Eclipse was really starting to have fun with this conversation, she was not becoming angered, on the contrary she appeared to be enjoying his remarks... but that was ok, he enjoyed a challenge. It wasn't that he just wanted to make her angry, he really didn't. He just wanted to see how far her patience runs.

Sylvana rolled her eyes at him, making sure it was enough so that there was no way that he could've missed the expression. "Perhaps I was wrong about you...you are like every other stag running about." she retorted, snorting a little at the end. She let out a bit of a sigh before stopping in front of him once again and smirked at him, "You expect everyone to answer every question you spit at them." she hissed as she stood there, unflinching and uncaring basically. "What if I were to say I'd rather not say what I was doing out here? It's none of your business whether I'm out to hunt, just strolling about as you say, or if I would happen to be waiting for a brute of a stag who stands out to meet me here." she said, reining herself in. He hadn't irritated her, not really...she just hated when stags thought they everyone had to answer every little question they asked.
